Welcome to Troxel's Classroom!
I'd like to take a moment and welcome you to my course website. This website is meant to be a resource for not only students who are enrolled in my courses but also parents and fellow educators. Please feel free to use any and all materials for the advancement of the social studies. If you like the content or would like to make an intellectual contribution I'd love to hear your thoughts.
This is a living website, meaning that I am always adding content to supplement what is being taught with my course curriculum. I am in the process of flipping my course content so please be patient as I am moving my desktop documents to their online home. Thanks again for checking this site out! I look forward to hearing from students, parents, and fellow educators around the globe!
I grew up in a small community in southwestern Wisconsin. I graduated from Richland Center High School in 2003. Following high school I attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to pursue a degree in the educational field. From 2003 to 2008 I obtained a bachelor's degree with a double major in broadfield social studies and education. In addition, I doubled minored in history and geography. I am currently on schedule to graduate from Iowa State University in 2015 with a master's degree in Curriculum and Instructional Technology. I have taught social studies at Fort Madison Senior High School for five years.
I have an extreme appreciation for education and my personal philosophy is that it is something that never ceases. This educational pursuit should focus more on the journey than the destination. Therefore I often require a great deal of commitment and rigor in my classroom. Those that value a positive transformation will enjoy my courses. I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to develop young historians and in turn leave the world a bit better than what I found it in. Please feel free to contact me any time for whatever reason. Thanks for your time and I look forward to meeting you soon!
